Plastic Surgery???
At Dalian Hoffen Bio-Technique Company in northern China, people turn other people into plastic. Plastination is a four-step process during which polymers replace water and fat molecules in biological specimens.
Plastinated bodies don’t decompose, and museums and medical schools can display them with exposed muscles, veins and brains in exhibits around the world. One such exhibit, called “Bodies,” has visited dozens of cities worldwide since it opened in 2005. Hong-Jin Sui founded the Dalian facility in 2002 after he studied plastination under the man who invented it, Gunther von Hagens. Sui says the human bodies processed at Dalian Hoffen come from medical universities and the animals from zoos and aquariums. It can take more than two years to plastinate large animals, such as whales, but humans take only eight to 12 months.

I hope theyre turning dead bodies into plastic and not when theyre alive. But what would the purpose be to use a plastic body. They could send them to clothing stores to use them as manicans.
ReplyDeleteI think this is pretty cool how they can turn people into plastic. But what is the point of giving up your life to be a plastic thing. I wonder if they are taking volunteers or they're doing it on dead people.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty cool. I just see no point in doing it. If you are alive why would you want to be plastic. If your turning dead people into plastic I see no point in doing so. Famous things are only famous if its authentic and not plastic. Maybe for security reason. But other than that I see no point.
ReplyDeleteI think this is very cool be than again like scary and a way. Because you don't know when they making the bodies, they using people that's alive Or dead people like Ronnie said its very interesting to me but hopefully they using dead people. But honestly what would be the purpose? I guess more research would tell.
ReplyDeleteI think this is super scary and weird. It's cool that they can actually do such a thing but why would anyone ever want to be turned into plastic? Also, why would someone want their plastic body on display in a museum for everyone to see and why would anyone even want to see that? I think it's a waste of time and creepy.
ReplyDeleteIts very creepy to me that they are turning dead bodies into new plastic ones. but also smart because their bodies won't break down cause they are now plastic. So they could use it in museums which is very smart and a good idea. but this is a job i wouldnt do cause its too weird for me.
ReplyDeleteIts very cool but weird that they are doing this. It is a good way to make use of dead bodies though. I dont see why anyone would want to be plastic. this could be used to make more lifelike manicans though. It seems cool but i think there is minimal use for it though.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very cool idea. It would help people be able to study bodies without them decomposing. It is also very creepy though. I would not like to look at a dead body that is now plastic. It would be disturbing.
ReplyDeleteI think this is cool but also scary because looking at a dead body when they have turned it into plastic will not be a good sight. but i also want to know why would somebosy want there body to be plastic??.. I wouldnt like to seee it though..
ReplyDeletei think this is intersesting. I dont understand why a living person would want to be plastic though. i think its cool that a plastic person wouldnt decompose. How could someone have plastic viens, and a plastic brain? Would they die from it? Do people still live if they are plastic? It would be wierd looking a someone who died and they turned them into plastic.
ReplyDeletei think this is really interesting but if i died i wouldnt want to be made out of plastic. I would rather rest in piece then be a plastic barbie. Its really cool how they could turn dead bodys into plastic though. I would really like to know more about it. If they get turn into plastic, do they still have life in them or do they change their whole memorie and personallity or are they still dead?
ReplyDeleteI think that this is interesting because thye can make plastic look as if it were actually a real organism. This is a cool way for museums to display new exhbits and attacrtions. That would make people come back to life in a way when you think about it.
ReplyDeleteThose animals they turn into plastic better not be alive. Anyway, while this is pretty cool and something I never would have thought about, I also find it kind of creepy. Just turning dead body parts into plastic.... I don't really see the appeal in it but whatever I guess.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why any human would want to be turned into plastic. It would be weird looking at a body that is plastic although it is cool that it can keep the bodies from decomposing. It's even creepier that some people are willing to let themselves be on display at a museum looking like that.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the motivation behind them wanting to do this. But, it would be resourceful for preserving dead organisms. One day, they might plastinate famous people.
ReplyDeleteI think this is pretty cool how they can turn people into plastic. But I really don't understand the point behind of making human bodies into plastic.
ReplyDeleteI think this is very creepy but cool. I don't really understand why a person would want to be plastic. It's interesting how the bodies won't decompose. I think eight to twelve months is a long time to make a human to plastic. I still wonder how we well look like with plastic.
ReplyDeleteI think this would be help to study the human body. It might help scientists help study diseases and see how long they can stay in the human body or what can kill them
